When the boxes are sound and the layout works, yes — new doors, drawer fronts, hardware and a matching veneer on the face frames and exposed sides change the kitchen completely for a fraction of new cabinets, and the kitchen stays usable throughout. It is not the answer for damaged boxes, a layout you dislike, or storage that does not work.
How long does refacing take?
Three to five days on site for most kitchens after the doors are made, which takes a few weeks. Old doors come off, the boxes are veneered, new doors and drawer fronts go on with new hinges and slides. It is far less disruptive than replacement, and there is no demolition.
